About Michelle Workshops - Beginners Workshops - Intermediate Workshops - Schools Special Needs Guilds/Groups Contact

Michelle Dibdin is a multimedia artist, specialising in felt making. She regularly runs workshops at her studio in Watford, Hertfordshire. She also teaches felt and mixed media workshops at schools, colleges and other local venues, covering Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.

Michelle trained at the International Design centre completing her City and Guilds in feltmaking - levels 2 and 3. She is a member of the International Feltmakers Association. She is currently working as an Artist in Residence within a local primary school engaging the children in many different projects including felting, batik and Eco art.

Michelle is heavily influenced by colour and form in nature, and particularly enjoys interpreting what she sees by manipulating fibre and adding other media. She started her felt making journey over 9 years ago, and was immediately hooked from the very first touch! ‘I love the feel of different types of fibre and am always smiling when working -I love designing, experimenting, learning and making’.

Michelle brings this ethos into her teaching environment, she loves teaching exciting and innovative classes to schools, adults, special needs groups and guilds.

Recently, Michelle has been mixing different media, she is very interested in shibori, batik, wire framed sculpture and creating artworks using recycled materials. courses are being developed in these areas.

I get a huge amount of enjoyment from teaching. I love collaborating our designs, guiding the learning and seeing (the sometimes) tired, proud and happy faces of my participants as they finish their projects.
